Bitch, Moan and Complain OR JUST DO IT and Succeed

Phew! It’s been one of those days when we’ve had a client on the phone moaning and complaining that their website is not making any money and (naturally) it’s all OUR fault!

Yes, I know, the client is always right…

But guess what, sometimes that’s a load of baloney – sometimes the client is wrong!

Sorry to say that, but it’s true!

Case in point:

A client starts a totally online business but has no computer experience, no business experience, no marketing & sales experience, YET (for some unknown reason), they think it will be a piece of cake to build a profitable business on the internet, even when they are lacking all the important skills needed to succeed.

  • It’s OUR fault that they don’t know how to add content to their CMS (supplied by another firm and nothing to do with us – they’re just too slack to read the manual!)
  • It’s OUR fault that they are getting a decent number of visitors to their site but their sales conversion sucks big time!
  • It’s OUR fault that they don’t want to take and implement any of the advice we’ve been giving them for months to help IMPROVE their sales conversions!
  • It’s OUR fault that we’re not prepared or willing to help them totally for free…

Folks, if you’re starting (or already have) an online business, stop making excuses for your failure and start taking MASSIVE ACTION to fix things.

  • If you don’t know how to use a computer, take a class or buy a book!
  • If you don’t know how to sell or market, take a course or buy some good books!
  • If you don’t understand business principles, take a class or buy some great books!
  • If you don’t know how to write articles or text content for your site, hire someone to do it for you and stop whinging and making excuses!
  • If you don’t know how to use your CMS, READ THE **** MANUAL!!!

Amazon.com or your favourite local book shop is a MECCA of amazing advice, teaching and training for just about any skill you could need in business, including marketing, selling, leadership, goal setting, html programming, etc etc etc. Become intimately familiar with the amazing wisdom they offer for sale and you will grow immensely as a person AND a business owner.

In short, be RESPONSIBLE for your success. Nobody else can or should be – not even us as your online marketing experts. After all, it is YOUR business, not ours!

And, if you want to pay us $154/hour for our time but not take our advice, then you’ve got nobody to blame but yourself when things go pear-shaped.

Don’t be a cry baby, be a go-getter. We LOVE working with go-getters (even the total IM newbie types) who take prompt action on our advice and ask smart questions and learn things to help their business grow.

If you’re the opposite of that, we’ll probably get sick of your complaining and whinging soon enough and cancel your contract! :-)

Success in ALL aspects of life is a CHOICE!

You get to choose whether you succeed or fail, so choose wisely or suffer the consequences.
